A work permit – is a document of a prescribed form, on the basis of which a foreigner can work officially on the territory of Ukraine. Without a work permit, foreign citizens are not allowed to work in Ukraine, except the exceptions required by law. A work permit is usually issued for the period of 1 or 3 years. Also, the document may be issued for a period of less than 1 year. If there are grounds, an employment permit may be renewed an unlimited number of times.

FREQUENT PROBLEMS OF FOREIGNERS WITHOUT A WORK PERMIT IN UKRAINE

  • You cannot work officially in Ukraine (except the owners of permanent residence permit)
  • Working in Ukraine unofficially (that is, illegally), you fall under administrative responsibility
  • You need to find an employer company in Ukraine, which is ready to employ you
  • The minimum monthly wage for foreigners from 01/01/2019 is 41 730 UAH
  • Salary in the amount of 4 173 UAH – applies only to certain categories of foreigners
  • A work permit for foreigners must be constantly extended
  • In case of untimely prolongation of work permit, residence permit in Ukraine is annulled
  • The work permit is the basis for a temporary residence permit, but not for a permanent residence permit in Ukraine
  • Registration as a private entrepreneur is not a basis for a residence permit
  • Registration as a private entrepreneur does not allow staying in Ukraine for more than 90 days
